What happened
The ODI ART Centre was established by the Society for the Development of Rural Literature and officially opened by Odisha’s Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in 2017. Spanning five acres adjacent to Chilika Lake, the centre was designed to preserve and showcase the diverse tribal and folk traditions of Odisha, which are at risk of fading away.
Visitors encounter the Purvasha Folk & Tribal Art Museum, which hosts an impressive collection of rare masks, sculptures, textiles, paintings, and ritual objects from indigenous groups such as the Saura and Kondh tribes.
