What happened
Singapore Airlines announced plans to upgrade its KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system beginning in 2027. This overhaul will be installed on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 aircraft as well as the airline’s forthcoming Boeing 777-9 planes. The system will offer passengers access to thousands of movies, TV series, podcasts, and music from popular providers like Apple TV, BBC, HBO Max, and Paramount+.
The improvements will include larger and sharper 4K OLED screens varying by cabin class, from 13-inch displays in Economy to expansive 32-inch screens for First Class travelers. The update also brings spatial audio technology and upgraded headphones with noise cancellation for premium guests. Users will enjoy a redesigned interface for easier content browsing and new features like a mini-player and the ability to resume shows across flights.
Why it feels good
The new KrisWorld will significantly enhance comfort and entertainment quality, making long-haul travel more enjoyable. Larger, high-resolution displays and immersive spatial audio create a rich multimedia experience. Passengers can personalise their entertainment journey through KrisFlyer accounts, saving favourites and picking up where they left off, even across different flights.
Additional wellness-focused content such as sleep aids, meditation guides, and healthy living articles complement the entertainment upgrades, supporting a more restful journey. Enhanced seat and lighting presets in premium cabins further cater to passenger comfort, adding subtle luxury touches that contribute to relaxation and wellbeing on board.
What to enjoy or watch next
Travelers can look forward to a broad and refreshed monthly content library featuring Hollywood blockbusters, acclaimed regional films, full TV seasons, and live news from BBC News and Sport 24. Exclusive content from popular streaming platforms, including new releases from Apple TV, HBO Max, and Paramount+, will keep selections fresh and diverse.
Families will appreciate the dedicated Kids' Mode, which simplifies the interface and provides age-appropriate entertainment. As these upgraded aircraft enter service over the next several years, passengers can enjoy the latest in luxury and technology, turning in-flight time into a rich and personalised entertainment retreat.
