Following a trend toward slimmed-down flagship multitools, Chinese innovator Roxon has unveiled the Flex Go, a smaller and lighter version of its popular modular Flex multitool. Designed to fit comfortably in a pocket, the new model offers extensive customization while weighing over 30% less than the original.
- Flex Go is 3/4 inch shorter and 30% lighter than the original Flex
- Offers eight slots for modular tool swapping with over 40 add-on options
- Pre-equipped with six fold-out tools including scissors, knife, and bit holder
What happened
Roxon has launched the Flex Go, a smaller, lighter addition to its modular multitool lineup. This new model trims nearly an inch off the length and sheds about a third of the weight compared to the original Flex multitool. It maintains a split-handle, plier-based design with the ability to swap out up to eight different tool implements.
Instead of carrying a bulky multitool packed with dozens of tools, the Flex Go encourages users to build their own perfect toolset by swapping in only the implements they need. The initial offering includes a pre-equipped model with useful fold-out tools such as short scissors, a small knife, a combination can and bottle opener, and a bit holder with double-ended screwdriver bits.
Why it feels good
The Flex Go’s compact size and lighter weight make it more comfortable for everyday carry right in your pocket, rather than clipped onto a belt or stored in a toolbox. This enhances convenience without compromising function, especially for users who prefer a minimalist or modular approach to their toolkits.
The flexible modular design allows users to easily customize their multitool for different tasks, whether that’s outdoor activities like camping or practical uses like biking or construction-related work. By selecting only the necessary tools for each scenario, the Flex Go helps prevent unnecessary bulk and weight, making daily tasks more enjoyable and efficient.
What to enjoy or watch next
For now, Roxon offers the Flex Go pre-equipped with a thoughtfully chosen set of six fold-out implements plus pliers and other essentials like tweezers and a toothpick. In the future, Roxon plans to sell the tool chassis empty, giving users complete freedom to customize their tool with any combination of the 47 short add-on implements available in their ecosystem.
Keep an eye on how the modular multitool market evolves as brands continue innovating with size, weight, and tool variety. The Flex Go represents a clean balance between portability and versatility that enthusiasts and everyday users alike will appreciate.
