What happened
Canada’s Mint Tiny House Company introduced the Onyx 2630, a thoughtfully designed tiny house on wheels measuring 30 feet in length and 8.6 feet wide. This mid-sized model sits on a triple-axle trailer, making it suitable for occasional towing or semi-permanent placement. The exterior combines sleek black metal with natural timber accents, establishing a modern yet warm aesthetic.
Inside, the 257-square-foot space is spread over two floors and features Scandinavian-style design with pale timber and white walls. The living area includes a rare full-sized sofa, chairs, and space for a mounted TV within a bright, high-ceiling room. The kitchen is laid out in a galley style equipped with modern appliances, while the single bedroom loft offers cozy comfort and skylight views.
Why it feels good
The Onyx 2630’s spacious-feeling interior and smart design choices provide a sense of openness unusual for tiny homes. The generous glazing floods the space with daylight, uplifting mood and easing the constraints often felt in compact living. Having a full-sized sofa instead of a cramped loveseat adds a welcome touch of relaxation and social comfort.
Temperature control is handled efficiently with a mini-split air conditioning unit, making the home pleasant year-round despite its small size. The porch area serves as an inviting outdoor extension of the living space, offering fresh air and a connection to nature with ease—a valuable asset for mobile living.
